How it Works
To obtain a Learner Driving Permit, the applicant must submit a paid fee voucher, CNIC copy, and blood group report. The applicant then visits DLA Sheikhupura for data entry and initial medical examination. After completion of these formalities, the learner permit is issued. Applicants who have completed the mandatory 42-day learner period on a district learner may appear for the theoretical and practical tests on the same day
Applicants who have completed a mandatory 42-day learner period, they have to appear for theoretical test and practical driving tests. Theoretical test involves twenty MCQs based test to be taken in 10 minutes (The preparatory material can be downloaded from dla.nhnmp.gov.pk). Practical driving test involves mandatory shapes test (L-Parking, Parallel Parking and Garage Parking) and Practical on-road test. All steps are mandatory to pass to get NHMP driving license.
In case a license holder loses his valid driving license, he may apply for issuance of a duplicate license. For this purpose, he is required to produce a police report regarding the loss of the license, the original CNIC, and the prescribed fee voucher issued by DLA Sheikhupura duly deposited. Upon verification of the documents, the duplicate driving license shall be issued accordingly.
An International Driving Permit (IDP) is issued to applicants who possess a valid NHMP driving license. For this purpose, the applicant must submit a duly paid fee voucher issued by DLA Sheikhupura, a valid visa, the original NHMP driving license along with its photocopy, and the original valid CNIC with its photocopy. Upon verification of the required documents, the International Driving Permit is issued accordingly.
